As I was working out at the school weight room, I was asking people what they were going to do during the winter recess. Some said playing with presents, or hanging with friends. I always thought it was a time to visit relatives and make homemade candy, and enjoying that we lived through the times of layoffs, poor economy and war. Slowly getting closer to the end of the tunnel you can see the light of winter break, one of the times of the year most people look forward to.
I put up my Christmas lights on Sunday it was cold and dark, but we put up lights from six to ten thirty. I was tired after putting up all of the lights, changing the bulbs, and untangling the knots in the wires. Some of the areas in front of my house didn't have nails for us to put the lights up, so we improvised. Climbing out on my balcony and hanging lights, and going outside and climbing a ladder to hang icicle lights was a difficult task.
I stood on the balcony, leaning over the edge to make sure the lights were being placed correctly on the nails and I almost fell over the edge from a two story drop. We kept getting out more and more lights until we reached the star. The star consists of a five point star that connects five long strands of lights that you disperse below the star from the top of the house. Also we used the many different colorful bulbs that can be used as two different colors in the strands to make my house look special.
Normally the Neighbor in my courtyard decorates their house with a bunch of decorations, but this year they haven't put any on it. My family tries to outdo the neighbor in decorations but it seems like we are the only ones with spirit because we are the only one out of twenty-five houses with any decoration. I just wanna know where has the spirit gone?
