For my third book I decided to read Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. It is a mysterious book full of fantasy ideas, and action. With the little I have read in the book, there are four major characters: Meggie who is the daughter of Mo(nicknamed silver tongue by Dustfinger) and is a passionate reader of books, Mo is a book repair man with some special power to tell stories and make them seem alive, Dustfinger is a drifter, a guy that goes from place to place seeking refuge from Capricorn, Capricorn is an evil man seeking after Mo with an evil purpose in mind. I found a quote that describes Capricorn, when Dustfinger was telling Meggie who he was and why he was after her dad.
"You met him once," said Dustfinger. "It's a long time ago, you won't remember you were so little." He held his hand at knee height in the air. "How can I explain what he's like? If you were to see a cat eating a young bird I expect you'd cry, wouldn't you? Or try to help the bird. Capricorn would feed the bird to the cat on purpose, just to watch it being torn apart, and the little creature's screeching and struggling would be as sweet as honey to him"
So far this Capricorn guy seems pretty evil to even consider doing that to a bird, but with whats in store, I am hoping that the book will get even better and more entertaining. So far the story line goes about Dustfinger visiting Mo at home, on a rainy night staring through Meggie's window from a distance. Mo talks to Dustfinger after he woke from a deep sleep because of Meggie. He tells Meggie to pack in the morning and they set off down the road to the entryway where Dustfinger tells Meggie about Capricorn. They set off in the van with Mo, Meggie, and Dustfinger going to Aunt Elinor's house. When they Reach the gate to the drive way of the house they push the gate open, drive down the road and see that it is a mansion filled with books with nearly thirty rooms. It is large sum of information that I have told you, but I am not going to spoil it. Leaving it at that, I hope the next section will be out of this world.
